Friday, February 5th, 2016The FID’s existing open ditch irrigation system wasn’t reliable, agricultural runoff was causing water quality issues, and the system was wasting water resources. To help solve the issues, the FID used CWSRF loans to pipe and pressurize the irrigation system and to install in-pipe hydroelectric generators. The enhanced system provides irrigators reliable access to water; a range of water-savings irrigation options; and reduced labor costs and conserves six billion gallons of water annually.

Monday, November 2nd, 2015How a 65 mile section of the historic and rugged Siskiyou rail line in southern Oregon and northern California was opened using a mix of public and private funds, including $7 million in federal TIGER funds. ODOT’s 2015 Bridge Condition Report summarizes bridge condition ratings on state highways and performance measures based on National Bridge Inventory and ODOT data. As a consistent reference point for evaluation, ODOT uses the bridge conditions snapshot provided annually to the Federal Highway Administration. Data from the April 2015 submittal is the basis of this report.
Oregon DOT: Update on the Bly Mountain Project

Thursday, August 27th, 2015Earlier this summer, the Oregon Department of Transportation participated in an aerial inspection of the solar panels at the Baldock Solar Station Array. The inspection was performed by Aerial Inspection Resources, who flew a drone equipped with a high resolution infrared camera that can detect malfunctioning solar cells by the extra heat they emit. PGE owns the nearly 7,000 panel array that is located at the French Prairie Rest Area, south of Wilsonville, and was interested in seeing how they could save time and manpower by inspecting the panels with this type of system.
