By eliminating left turns across oncoming traffic and nearly eliminating head-on collisions, roundabouts reduce crashes by 40%, reduce crashes with injuries by 75%, and reduce fatal crashes down to nearly nothing.

A Montana Department of Transportation bridge replacement project received honors in the 2015 America’s Transportation Awards competition. The announcement Wednesday was made at the 2015 Western Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials annual meeting. The project, “Deep Creek Canyon Weekend Bridge Replacement” won in the Best Use of Innovation category for the WASHTO region.
