Washington State: SR 99 Viaduct On Ramp Demolition

Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) fired up the demolition equipment at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, and spent the night crunching and breaking the nearly 60-year-old First Avenue S. northbound on-ramp into bits.

The ramp will remain closed for the next six weeks while crews work to build a new ramp. WSDOT aims to have the new on-ramp complete by April 1. More information about the project and detour can be found at: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/SR99/HolgateToKing/DetourSteps.htm
