Utah DOT: Understanding the I-80 Wildlife Overpass

The new wildlife overpass on I-80, just west of Parleys Summit, is now complete! In coordination with UDWR this overpass, the first in the state designed and built solely for wildlife, will help improve safety by cutting down on the high number of wildlife-related collisions in the area. In order to make the crossing as successful as possible, it’s important that the overpass is used by wildlife only. Check out this video and help us spread the word to #KeepItWild!

AASHTO National Contest Selects Two State DOT Projects as the Best of the Best

For eleven straight years the America’s Transportation Awards competition sponsored by AASHTO, Socrata, AAA and the US Chamber of Commerce has showcased the very best transportation projects in nation. This video highlights the 2018 competition which attracted 79 project nominations from 35 state DOTs. 12 projects earned the right to compete for the grand prize and the Socrata People’s Choice Award. The top two prizes and $10,000 cash awards—to be given to a charity or transportation-related scholarship program of the winner’s choosing–were presented Sept. 24, 2018 at the AASHTO Annual Meeting in Atlanta.
