Our employees and colleagues tell their story of a very serious near miss incident from last August. Although no one was hurt and there was no serious property damage, it was a very scary near miss, as you will find when you listen to the crews’ account of that day. Please take their message to heart and be safe.

From January 16-21, 2014, Davis, Hibbitts & Midghall, Inc. (DHM Research) conducted a telephone survey among registered voters in Portland to assess their perceptions of the city’s transportation needs. The survey will help the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) prioritize future transportation-related projects.
The project’s Park & Ride at the SE Park Ave MAX station will do more than provide commuters a place to park cars. It will also have secure bike parking, electric vehicle charging stations and a solar array—and 68% percent of the facility site will be dedicated to new and improved habitat.

In 2005 Oregon and Washington began a process to identify the key needs for re-designing five miles of freeway and interchanges including the Interstate 5 Bridge, which was built in two phases in 1917 and 1958. In 2013 the Oregon legislature voted to support a bi-state proposal in which the costs, risk, and management experience were shared with Washington state. Later in 2013, the Washington legislature failed to support the project…Losing this partner raises many questions for the future of the project.
