NWTC employee Garth Johnson works in the hub of the new wind turbine rotor installed on the Controls Advanced Research Turbine (CART) at the National Wind Technology Center (NWTC) in December 2006.

Engineers are installing the two largest turbines ever tested at the laboratory, a 1.5 MW turbine manufactured by General Electric.
