This memo documents the key outcomes of the technical assistance for Baton Rouge, Louisiana with the Bikeshare Planning tool, and identifies key community issues, prioritized goals, and specific actions. Bikeshare is a network of bicycles distributed around an area that allows and encourages non-motorized trips from one location to another. In Baton Rouge, the overarching goal is to achieve a bikeshare system in a bike-friendly community that boosts tourism and improves quality of life.

CicLAvia is partnering with UCLA and the Rand Corporation to measure health impacts and behavioral changes that are sparked by utilizing the city in this manner.

Other profiles that comprise the LASER Atlas are at the sub-regional level…This county level overview is designed to help community stakeholders identify areas of high potential for solar energy and the benefits of green economic investment. These benefits include capitalizing on incoming state and local funding while creating jobs and building community resilience to current environmental health and energy threats that climate change will exacerbate.

To improve highway safety, DOTD has developed a Louisiana Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) aimed at reducing fatal and severe injury crashes on Louisiana roadways. The goal of Louisiana SHSP is to reach Destination Zero Deaths on Louisiana roadways, which calls to cut the fatalities by half by 2030.
