The POLICY OF NO is no longer acceptable. Just saying “NO,” or just accepting “NO” from others, is ducking the responsibility that all Americans must assume. Of course we want quality education and healthcare, a military able to defend us, and so much more that makes our lives possible. But we can’t allow the backbones of our nation to continue to decay. We are becoming a nation at risk!

North Dakota: Massive Explosion Following Train Derailment

Wednesday, January 1st, 2014

A train is derailed west of Casselton, North Dakota. It happened at 35th Street and 154th Avenue Southeast just before 2:20 p.m. Monday. No injuries have been reported so far. Several area emergency teams are on scene and are setting up an incident command center. A viewer who is about a half mile from the derailment tells Valley News Live she can see large flames.

Today’s New York Times Editorial on Rail Safety

If Congress had done its job decades ago, human failure could have been taken out of the equation on Sunday. The engineer, William Rockefeller, could have been passed out or having a heart attack, and the train would not have derailed. Four passengers would be alive; the rest unhurt.
