The 1,300-ton bridge, built alongside I-35E, was moved into place using new construction technology
The Minnesota Department of Transportation used a giant automated machine called a Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) to move a finished bridge into position. A first for MnDOT, the move took place Aug. 18, 2012 over I-35E in St. Paul at the Maryland Ave. Bridge site. – rfilipczak on YouTube.
