PennDOT performed a controlled drop Wednesday, Oct. 26, of a section of the old PA 903 Bridge in Jim Thorpe, Carbon County.
A new $28 million bridge opened July 1 approximately 940 feet upstream. The new bridge was named the PA 903 Andrew J. “AJ” Baddick Memorial Bridge by the state Legislature.
Both bridges crossed the Lehigh River, Lehigh Canal, Reading Blue Mountain Northern Railroad and Norfolk Southern Railroad.
