(Best viewed in the HD setting and full screen) This time-lapse captures the construction work of The City of Oakland (California) Measure DD, 12th Street Reconstruction Project, between January 10, 2011 and March 9, 2012. (The final version of the time-lapse video will be complete in the Fall of 2012 when the work is scheduled to be complete). The project relocates and narrows a roadway to create a new shoreline park, and daylights the waterway connecting to San Francisco Bay, providing improved water quality and wildlife habitat at Lake Merritt. Funding is provided by the City of Oakland, State Coastal Conservancy, and the Federal Highway Administration. Time-lapse photography by Erik Niemann, Oakland, California, United States.
