This video is part of a series recording the many off-street bike paths in Orange County, California. The goal of the video is to bring public awareness of these very open and safe paths while also giving some way-finding direction in spite of the lack of connecting signage.
This particular video is of Back Bay Drive in Newport Beach, California. The video is taken going westbound in the main traffic lane. The road is about 3.3 miles in length and very, very popular on sunny days with bike commuters, recreational cyclists, walkers, and joggers alike.
The ride starts at the intersection of Jamboree Road and Back Bay Drive. It terminates after a very steep hill at the intersection of Eastbluff Drive and Back Bay Drive.
Connect to the San Diego Creek Trail (and the Back Bay Trail) by taking the sidewalk bike route north of the terminus and making a left at the next intersection.
