The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) has assembled a new resource to help plug the holes in our nation’s aging water infrastructure.
According to the NRDC, “billions of gallons of water are lost every day from U.S. drinking water systems. As states and communities contend with the twin challenges of an aging water infrastructure and a changing climate, leaky water systems threaten the quality and reliability of our drinking water.”
“Cutting Our Losses” features an interactive map that compares the states’ policy measures relating to water. Not surprisingly, the amount of urgency and effort attached to water policy varies widely from state to state. Take a look at the map to see how your state measures up.
