The barrels are gone, all lanes are open, and The Point project on I-15 is now officially complete. This two-year, $215 million project widened I-15 to six lanes in each direction between 12300 South in Draper and S.R. 92 in Lehi, a distance of approximately seven miles.

Over the course of a year, Siemens collaborated closely with the San Francisco Department of Environment (SFE) and nine other agencies to conduct an analysis of the City’s infrastructure, defined as its entire built environment and transport system. The team used the CyPT model to test technology pathways for achieving San Francisco’s “80×50” target (reducing CO₂eq emissions 80% by 2050 against a 1990 baseline) within the context of the local 0-50-100-Roots framework, as well as the State of California’s policy leadership.

Uber and Lyft left Austin in May 2016 after voters decided to implement stricter operational guidelines for transportation networking companies (TNCs). Soon a flood of new TNCs including RideAustin, Fare, Fasten, GetMe and even a Facebook group called Arcade City with 40,000+ members launched. Yellow Cab soon launched an app and already existing, LUXE, an app that sends someone to valet your car from anywhere downtown, gained popularity.

Transit advocates knew something was wrong when they observed declining bus system ridership in spite of increasing population, a growing economy, and record-high subway ridership. To figure out what could be done about it, they spoke to industry experts and researched successful efforts in peer cities to identify common sense solutions to NYC’s bus problems. This research is summarized in their report “Turnaround: Fixing New York City’s Buses”.

As crews begin repaving of both directions of highway through the Cave Rock tunnels and complete roadside drainage and water quality improvements near Glenbrook, drivers are asked to anticipate work zone traffic changes. Beginning the week of Sept. 12 through mid-October, travel lanes may be shifted through the work zone as traffic begins being alternated between the eastbound and westbound tunnels for final paving and lighting work. Oversize and overdimensional semi-trucks are not permitted through the tunnel during construction.

Crews are now underway with the installation of the latest addition to Colorado’s network of mountain automated weather observing systems (AWOS). The latest AWOS will be located on the summit of Dakota Hill near Rollins Pass, north-northwest of Central City, Colorado at an elevation of 10,929 feet MSL.
