Utah DOT: Top Ten Projects of 2018

UDOT crews will work on 188 highway construction projects scheduled across the state this year, with a combined value of $1.46 billion. Planned improvements range from small sidewalk and street light installations, to the rebuilding of a 12-lane section of urban freeway. Within the Top 10, projects include widening and rebuilding freeways, constructing new interchanges or redesigning existing ones, and repaving and upgrading other local/regional highways.

Nevada DOT: Breaking Ground on Highway 95, Phase 2B

In January, NDOT broke ground on a $78 million dollar widening and upgrade to a six-mile-long stretch of U.S. Highway 95 between Ann and Kyle Canyon roads in northwest Las Vegas. The project will relieve congestion, improve efficiency and enhance safety, while providing capacity for future growth. Currently, over 52,000 vehicles daily travel through the corridor; however, traffic is expected to more than double over the next two decades.

On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun. Anyone within the path of totality can see one of nature’s most awe inspiring sights – a total solar eclipse. This path, where the moon will completely cover the sun and the sun’s tenuous atmosphere – the corona – can be seen, will stretch from Salem, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina. Observers outside this path will still see a partial solar eclipse where the moon covers part of the sun’s disk. NASA created this website to provide a guide to this amazing event.
