The following projects are finalists to receive the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Outstanding Civil Engineering Awards.
The winner, one of the among five finalists, will be revealed at ASCE’s OPAL Gala, March 15, in Arlington, VA.

Second Avenue Subway – Phase 1, New York City, NY
The first major expansion of New York City’s subway system in more than 50 years, Phase 1 of the Second Avenue Subway runs 1.8 miles between 63rd and 96th streets, increasing accessibility to Manhattan’s Upper East Side while reducing delays and overcrowding on the Lexington Ave. line.
SR-520 Floating Bridge and Landings Project, Seattle and Medina, WA
The centerpiece of the SR-520 corridor reconstruction, the Floating Bridge and Landings Project replaced the previous bridge with a safe, more reliable, more environmentally sustainable transportation link between the region’s urban hubs on both sides of Lake Washington.
